Don't get me wrong, I think blogging is great. But it is pretty self-serving. I blog because I need to connect to people like me. I think I have done a pretty good job of that. And that feels really good. I also think I have offered a bit to others. Maybe. And that feels good too.
Along this self-congratulatory line, some crazy chica has nominated me for Best New Blog for the 2007 Weblog Awards. WOW! What an honor. I am blushing and typing.
Now, it is normally not something that I would ask -- but this is pretty cool -- so if you are so inclined, feel free to head over to the Best New Blog nomination page and scroll down down down (or do a search for lifeofabutterflywife) and click the plus sign. That lets the guys who are picking the finalists in a given category that people actually like the blog.
To remedy this post from being COMPLETELY self-serving, there are great blogs that deserve nomination and a little help with that plus-sign clicking thingy. You can nominate whomever you like, including yourself. There are 49 categories to choose from, surely there is a category for you.
NOMINATIONS ARE ACCEPTED UNTIL OCTOBER 15.
Some of my personal favs include:
- SpouseBUZZ nominated in the Best Online Community category.
- ArmyWifeToddlerMom nominated in the Best Diarist category.
- So many to mention in the Best Military Blog category. But go nominate or support your favorite. Blackfive, The Long War Journal, Acute Politics, Badgers Forward, From My Position ... On the Way are all nominated just to name a few.
